Herndon Roofing Company is the Herndon site of Roofing Roughnecks, the roofing division of Kenney Construction. Why a roofing company in Herndon matters

Herndon is a town inside Fairfax County, and that detail affects your roof project. Homes inside the Town of Herndon go through the Town's own Building Inspections office, which lists a Re-Roof permit type, while many addresses with a Herndon mailing address, such as Franklin Farm and the rest of the 20171 ZIP code, are in unincorporated Fairfax County and follow county rules. The Town also has a Historic District Review Board that reviews exterior changes, including roof replacements, in its historic district. A roofer who works here regularly knows to sort that out before ordering materials.

Most of Herndon's homes were built between 1970 and 2000, according to a town housing study reported in 2026, and roughly 30% of the town's homes are townhouses. That means a lot of roofs that are on their second or third covering, a lot of shared roof lines between neighbors, and a lot of HOA color and material rules. We plan around those details from the first visit.

What to expect when you call

  • A look at the roof and, where it's safe and relevant, the attic, before anyone recommends repair or replacement.
  • A straight answer on whether the problem looks isolated or roof-wide.
  • A written scope listing what's included: tear-off, decking repair if needed, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and cleanup.
  • Materials from manufacturers the division actually installs, including GAF and CertainTeed shingles.
  • One company from estimate through the final walkthrough.

Want a rough idea first? The Roofing Roughnecks instant roof estimate tool measures your roof from satellite imagery and emails a ballpark price. It's a starting point, not a quote.
